DIY Sea Moss Gel

What You will Need
40g of raw dried sea moss ● Filtered or spring water ● A blender ● Two large bowls ● A colander ● A 1L glass jar with lid
Step 1: Clean the Sea Moss
Place the dried sea moss in a bowl and rinse thoroughly under cool, filtered water to remove sand, salt, and debris. Repeat this process 3–4 times until the water runs clear.
Step 2: Soak the Sea Moss
Transfer the cleaned sea moss to a clean bowl and cover it with filtered water. Optionally, add the juice of two limes along with the squeezed halves to the water. Soak the sea moss for 12–24 hours at room temperature. During this time, it will expand and become soft and translucent.
Step 3: Blend into Gel
After soaking, remove the lime halves and drain the sea moss. Place the sea moss in a blender, adding 1–1.1 liters of filtered water or the reserved soaking water. Blend until a smooth, creamy consistency is achieved. Adjust the amount of water to reach your desired gel thickness.
Step 4: Store and Set
Pour the blended sea moss gel into a clean glass jar and seal it with the lid. Refrigerate for 3–4 hours to allow the gel to set. The gel can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 weeks or frozen in ice cube trays for up to 6 months.
